How to survive your canoeing/kayaking trip

Wherever I travel to, I always search to see if the place I go, have canoeing/ kayaking activities. The last couple of years, I went to Whiteshell, Banff, Vancouver in Canada, Page in Arizona and I love to have a day kayaking trip just to enjoy the view, feel the vibe of the city and get my mind off the work. I found that kayaking/canoeing is one of the best activities to do in order to appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature.

Canoeing/kayaking is a fun water activity to do for many reasons:

  • You enjoy scenic views and breath the fresh air
  • Nature can help you to refresh your body and soul

  • With the water, you don't feel so hot
  • You can enjoy your meal on the boat or when pulling over somewhere. No reservation needed
  • It provides a lot of health benefits
    • It improves your aerobic condition: Paddling is the real cardio activity. Your heart rate should be high and your breathing is supposed to be hard.
    • Your strength will be better: You w have to work on your upper body and your core a lot
    • You're stress-free
    • You burned a lot of calories

So in order to enjoy fully your trip, you should follow my tips here:

      • Safety first: always have your life jacket and the safety first aid kits with you and Learn how the safety practices
      • Make sure you bring a map and/or compass for direction
      • Get a lesson: 
        Here are the general tips for your canoeing trip

        • Dress for the water, not for the weather
        • Invest some waterproof bag or cases for your belonging
        • Know the river/lake condition
        • Check the forecast before you leave the dock
        • On the water
          • Sit properly
          • Stay with your team

 

 Then all you can do now is sit back and enjoy your trip.
